The Marengo Views Experience

Ocean views, thoughtful hosting and unforgettable moments on the Great Ocean Road.

More Than Just a Place to Stay

A great stay is not just about where you sleep. It is about how the place feels from the moment you arrive.

At Marengo Views, an owner-operated holiday home, the experience is shaped by the ocean, the quiet, the little details inside the house, and the way the property is thoughtfully cared for behind the scenes.

This page gives you a behind-the-scenes look at what makes staying at Marengo Views different.

A Day at Marengo Views

There is a rhythm to a day here that is hard to find anywhere else on the Great Ocean Road.

Mornings might start with coffee on the east-facing balcony, watching the light come up over the Marengo Reefs Marine Sanctuary. Or you might head out early for a walk into Apollo Bay, a run along Marengo Beach, a surf, a kayak, or a slow wander towards Shelly Beach along the Great Ocean Walk.

From the deck: seals resting on the reef, surfers at Marengo Point and walkers on the Great Ocean Walk

Across the bay: fishing boats, jet skis and cargo ships passing through

At low tide: families exploring the rock pools and the coastline changing with every tide

Some days are made for exploring further. Cape Otway, the Otways, Apollo Bay, the Twelve Apostles, local cafés, beaches, markets and coastal walks are all part of the wider experience.

As evening arrives, the light shifts across the water and the house takes on a different feel. Cook dinner at home, head into Apollo Bay, or simply sit outside and watch the Southern Ocean change colour. Every day looks a little different here. The ocean makes sure of that.

Looked After, Properly

As an owner-operated holiday home, Marengo Views is never treated like a set-and-forget holiday rental.

Because the property faces the ocean, it needs year-round care. Salt air, wind and weather are part of life on the coast, so maintenance, repairs and improvements happen continuously.

Inside, we take the same approach. We regularly review what guests use, what could be improved, what needs replacing and what would make the stay easier or more comfortable.

The house you stay in today is not quite the same as the house from last year. It keeps improving.

Contactless check-in makes arrival simple. The digital guide gives you house information, Wi-Fi details, local tips and practical instructions whenever you need them. If something needs attention, we would rather know early and fix it properly.

Always Prepared, Even When the Power Is Not

Regional coastal living means power outages can happen occasionally. It is part of life on the Great Ocean Road.

We cannot control the grid, but we can control how prepared the house is.

UPS battery backup: helps keep the internet running during an outage

Night lights: plug-in lights help guests move around more safely in the dark

Power alerts: we receive outage updates so we can communicate with guests rather than leaving them guessing

Emergency supplies: torches, lanterns and spare batteries are kept at the property and listed in the digital guide

Most guests will never need these things. But if they do, we want the house to be ready.
