Perfectly positioned on a clifftop overlooking the Southern Ocean, the property sits beside the Marengo Reefs Marine Sanctuary and only moments from Marengo Beach, the rock pools and the Great Ocean Walk.
Apollo Bay and Marengo may only be minutes apart, but they offer two very different experiences.
Apollo Bay is the region's vibrant coastal town, home to cafés, restaurants, boutique shops, galleries and the Saturday foreshore market.
Marengo offers something quieter.
This peaceful residential village sits beside the Marengo Reefs Marine Sanctuary, with quieter beaches, dramatic reefs and spectacular Southern Ocean views. Staying in Marengo gives you the best of both worlds — peace, privacy and nature on your doorstep, with the convenience of Apollo Bay just a short drive or coastal walk away.
One of the things that makes Marengo so unique is the Marengo Reefs Marine Sanctuary.
When conditions are calm, the sanctuary is a wonderful place to explore. Rock pools reveal crabs, sea stars and other marine life, while snorkellers can discover kelp forests, colourful sponge gardens and reef fish beneath the surface.
Australian Fur Seals are regularly seen resting on the nearby reef, and dolphins are occasional visitors. Between May and September, migrating Southern Right and Humpback Whales can often be spotted offshore from the balconies and decks.
If you'd rather stay above the water, simply relax with a coffee and watch the ever-changing Southern Ocean. Some days you'll see surfers riding the reef breaks around Marengo Point. On calmer days, kayakers paddle through the sanctuary while walkers make their way along the Great Ocean Walk.

As with any Southern Ocean beach, conditions can change quickly. We recommend checking local conditions before entering the water and swimming at patrolled beaches whenever possible.
One of the things that makes Marengo Views unique is that the Great Ocean Walk passes directly in front of Marengo.
From the living areas, balconies and deck, you can often see walkers making their way along one of Australia's most spectacular coastal trails.
The Great Ocean Walk officially begins in nearby Apollo Bay and follows more than 110 kilometres of spectacular coastline to the Twelve Apostles. Along the way it winds through forests, beaches, clifftops and some of Victoria's most breathtaking scenery.
The beauty of staying at Marengo Views is that you don't need to complete the entire walk to enjoy it. Simply leave the house and join the nearby coastal section for a peaceful morning stroll, an afternoon adventure or one of our favourite walks to Shelly Beach.

More than 100 million years ago, this part of the Otway Coast formed part of an ancient polar landscape where dinosaurs, early mammals and other prehistoric animals once lived. Today, the sense of discovery remains at low tide across the Marengo rock platforms and rock pools.

Beautiful place to stay. Exactly like the listing. Lots of amenities and very comfortable.
Great Location and fantastic place to stay to see the ocean waves direct from your home.
We loved our stay here and think Max does all the basics of BnBing very well but goes a bit above and beyond. For example: warm doonas and extra blankets (have stayed in a few BnBs with only lightweight bedding, in Victoria. Crazy); a pot big enough to cook pasta for the number of people the house actually fits (amazing how many places have tiny pots only. And all the kitchen equipment was great); the outdoor sensor lights; the guide lights on the driveway; the snacks in the pantry (our 13 year old was in heaven) and the bathroom essentials; the functioning internet. And then it meets all my my other essentials: comfortable beds , quiet location (you dont hear traffic), walkable to various things (beach is right there and it's only a few kms into town). And the views are sensational from everywhere, and you can hear the ocean 24/7, which I adore. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to others. As others have noted, driveway is steep and there are steps. All manageable for us.
We absolutely loved this house!! The views off the decks were gorgeous as well as the parrots that liked to stop by to say hello. This property is one row of houses up from the beach on the hillside so you have an even better panoramic view. For us it was the perfect location for sightseeing trips west towards Twelve Apostles and also into Great Otway National Park. It’s about a 3 hour drive from Melbourne so staying here is far better than trying to do a day trip from there. It’s a few minutes from Apollo Bay which is a very cute little town with a bakery, ice cream parlor, grocery store etc. I was even able to take a Pilates class a few minutes from the house. It does have stairs to get in and some upstairs bedrooms so need to be mobile and able to carry up suitcases. One last comment-we were trying to sight koalas and our biggest success was on Manna Gum Rd. heading into Bimbi Campground (near Cape Otway Lighthouse). Definitely recommend this Airbnb!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The place was spotless, comfortable, and exactly as described. Everything was very well organised and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. The host was incredibly kind, responsive, and provided all the information we needed, which made our stay smooth and stress-free. The location was great and the property had all the amenities we could ask for. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and the warm hospitality. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We would definitely love to come back again! 😊
Firstly, great hosts and super helpful and friendly. We had 2 kids and 1 infant and Max was very kind to proactively give us an early checkin and late check out. The location is superb and the house is so worth it. Would love to visit again!
the view from this place is amazing! great based for the Great Ocean Road and we could charge our EV overnight no problem!
